Got a knack for the written word? The Communications
Committee is charged with informing the community about the
organization and its activities. Members write and design the
monthly newsletter and other marketing collateral; develop and
update the Web site; collaborate on strategic public relations;
promote DCYD and Democratic Party events; and provide
DCYD Members with clear and comprehensive information on
issues of interest to young Democrats.
You may think financial work is all number-crunching, but
without the Fundraising Committee, there would be no Young
Dems! Members work with the Treasurer to develop strategic
goals for fundraising, maintain procedures for all group
financial transactions and support other committees in reaching
goals for financial sustainability. Remember - without the
dollars, even the best of Democratic candidates can't win!
All people in this community, regardless of party affiliation,
matter to the DCYDs. The Community Outreach Committee
takes a proactive approach to improving quality-of-life
conditions in Middle Tennessee by reaching out to non-profit
organizations to participate in non-partisan or volunteer
activities. Middle Tennessee is one of the most friendly and
beautiful places to live and work in America, and we intend to
help keep it that way.
Membership and Organizational Development Committee
Without a vibrant and dedicated group of young Dems in our
ranks, you would never hear anything about the DCYDs. The
Membership and Organizational Development Committee is
charged with building an effective and organized base of young
Democrats in Middle Tennessee. The committee works with
high schools, colleges and political campaigns to build
membership, and collaborates with other progressive groups on
joint projects and events.
